About Kirstie

kirstieOver the last two decades, I’ve been devoted to helping my clients take both small steps and large leaps towards maintaining the unique mind-body balance that brings wellness to their lives. My philosophy is that being healthy means feeling good from the inside out. I strive to provide the welcoming, encouraging environment you need to make an investment in yourself that will pay off for the rest of your life. Together, we’ll carve out a piece of the day that will bring you peace of mind amid your busy lifestyle.

My own journey towards helping people find health began nearly 20 years ago, when I launched my health promotions career as a health and fitness coordinator for the YMCA. Two years later, after being diagnosed with Type I diabetes at the age of 23, the value of a healthy lifestyle took on a whole new meaning for me.

Determined to meet life full on and maintain my physical, emotional, and spiritual vitality, I renewed my commitment to remaining physically active while nurturing the delicate mind-body connection that needs to be present for overall health. Knowing that there must be more to wellness than calorie counting and aching muscles, I began to look beyond the traditional workout experience to find a more fulfilling path to health.

The first time I experienced yoga, I felt the difference between ‘fitness’ and ‘wellness.’ I knew right away that I wanted to share this resounding new awareness of the body that penetrates all aspects of daily life. Soon after, I established Bloom Yoga + Wellness in Deep River, Ontario, finding that this beautiful Ottawa River community allows me to celebrate nature in all aspects of my wellness practice.

Be well. Namaste.
